(Is.49:14-16) “But Zion said, The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me. Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My Hands; your walls are continually before Me.”
Has anyone ever felt left out or forgotten? I’ve felt like that at times but the Lord has been faithful. It’s one thing to feel left out, forgotten, or forsaken by people but to feel like the Lord has forgotten you, left you, or totally abandoned you by forsaking you, that is different. That is a scary thought and a scary place to be. People can be wishy-washy sometimes. One minute they’re with you and the next minute they’re not. People come and go. Even Joseph in the bible was forgotten by people when he was left in prison for a couple of years but the Lord was with him. God never forgot about him. God was faithful to Joseph. Joseph knew that the Lord was with him so he also remained faithful to the Lord and trusted Him. God remembers you and He does care about what you go through in your life. At times it may seem or appear that He has forgotten or forsaken us but He hasn’t. He is working in each of us, in our hearts and lives. He is also working behind the scenes to bring things together in the right order, the right way at just the right time. That is why sometimes things take a little longer than we like though and we must be patient for God to answer our prayers. He says in His word that He will never leave us or forsake us. This scripture says that even a mother may forget her own baby that she gave birth to but He will not forget you and me. He says, He has inscribed us on the palms of His Hands. Our walls are continually before Him. That means He has you and me etched and engraved into His Hands. He couldn’t forget you if He wanted to. He doesn’t want to forget you because He loves you. Our walls are continually before Him. Everything about each of us and our lives are before Him. Yes, God does remember you!
Lord, I ask that You help me to know that You are near. Help me to sense Your Presence and to know You more. I pray that You help me to know that You are faithful and that You will never leave me or forsake me in Jesus Name. Amen.
