(Exodus 28:30) “You shall put the Urim and the Thummim in the breastplate of judgment, and they shall be over Aaron’s heart when he goes in before the Lord. And Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel over his heart before the Lord continually.”
What is The Urim and Thummim? This means Lights and Perfections. Light is illumination, shining brightness, and glowing radiance. It’s a natural agent that stimulates sight and makes things visible, understanding of a problem or mystery, and enlightenment. Perfection is a flawless state where everything is exactly right. It can also be the action of making something perfect. It’s without fault or flaw. Perfection is a perfect condition. The highest degree of proficiency, skill or excellence, a perfect embodiment or example of something and maturity. It’s the state of being complete and correct in every way. In the Old Testament/Old Covenant it was in the breastplate worn by the high priest that was attached to the ephod of his garment. It was a type of revelation and discernment from the Lord. I looked this up online and it showed a picture of two stones. One white stone and one black stone. I believe that there was something supernatural that occurred when the high priest prayed for the children of Israel or would inquire of the Lord about things. I think one of the stones would supernaturally light up to give an answer to the high priest. I think it would be like a yes or no answer. The white stone represented that it was from the Lord and would be to proceed, and to go forward with what they prayed about. The black stone represented that it was not from God and not to proceed. Today, in The New Testament/New Covenant of God’s Grace it is different. We don’t have to go to a human high priest like they did then but each of us can go directly to the Lord who is our true High Priest. We can go to Him for anything. He will speak to us, enlighten us, give us direction and discernment from Holy Spirit.
Lord, I ask in the Name of Jesus that You lead me and guide me. Give me clear discernment and direct my steps. I ask that You help me to know You and follow You. I ask that You keep me in Your ways and place me on the right path that You have for me in Jesus Name. Amen.
