(Lev.19:18) “You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people, but you shall love your neighbor as yourself; I am the Lord.”
Love is the Key:
Love lives and exists in kindness. It manifests itself in kindness, even towards those who may seem very difficult for you to love. It manifests in patient mannerisms. It is in knowing (experiencing) and believing (believing and knowing). It is in knowing and believing God’s love. You must know and believe His love for you, that you are loved! God loves you! You are loved and accepted in the Beloved (His Beloved Son). The Lord loves you! We must truly know and believe how much God loves us. When we know how deeply He loves us we will be able to love Him and then we can walk in love towards those around us. Forgiveness is also a part of love. Love also manifests itself in forgiving those who have hurt us or done us wrong. The Lord does not want us to take vengeance (revenge) by trying to “pay them back for what they did”, but we are to give it over to the Lord. He doesn’t want us to hold any grudges of anger or unforgiveness because that only hurts ourselves and holds us in bondage to those people and what they did wrong. We must release them to the Lord and forgive them. We must forgive the offenders and not be bitter or resentful towards them. This will bring freedom in our lives as we walk in love and forgive. You must choose and decide to forgive them by faith even if you don’t ” feel” like it. We can’t go by feelings but we must do things by faith, which works only through love. If you are still having a hard time forgiving them you can ask the Lord to help you and He will.
Lord, I thank you for Your love for me and all that You have done for me. I thank You that You forgive me for my sins. I ask that You help me to forgive (from my heart) those who have hurt me and wronged me. I choose to forgive them by faith and obedience to Your Word. I ask that You heal my heart. Heal my hurts and wounds. I ask that You fill me up with more of Your love in Jesus Name. Amen.
